For Jess Singh and her husband Josh, many things in life are new…and exciting! Married in 2017, a baby boy – their firstborn child – born in March 2020 and in the last year, the purchase of a brand new townhome by Knutson in the heart of Brambleton! The Singhs are most definitely enjoying their new lifestyle each and every day.
Jess and Josh are both Northern Virginia natives, and owned their first home in Springfield. Last year, though, a vision came to Josh about where and how they might live, and even though they loved their Springfield home, they knew it was time to consider the next chapter. Enter Brambleton.
“My husband had a dream of our house, which sent us on a search to find it,” Jess explains. “He did not know this area existed until he started researching and found the image of our house from his dream on Zillow. Yes, I thought he was crazy too! We drove to the Brambleton Town Center and fell in love! I cannot believe it happened that way myself, mainly because we were not planning to move,” Jess says.
Yet move they did, to a Northern Virginia address that clearly offered all they were dreaming of. They crafted their Knutson Home from the ground up – all four stories, with a spectacular outdoor space – and in late July of 2019, they became Brambletonians.
The Singhs enjoy strolls to the Town Center, meals at Blue Ridge Grill, the Sunday Farmers’ Market, and the almost countless windows in the dream home they designed themselves that let them take in the sweeping Loudoun County views and see all the activity in their neighborhood. In March of this year, they added a new “roommate” by welcoming another new gem in their lives – their son. Even the adjustment to the COVID-19 predicament, including the stay-at-home safety precautions that went into effect just a few days after their son arrived, has proven to be rewarding in unexpected ways.
“In the midst of uncertain times,” Jess explains, “making our house into a home has really brought so much joy to our family. If we HAD to stay home for five months, we are grateful we get to stay in this home!”
Both being able to work from home for the past few months has given Jess and Josh a unique opportunity to continue with their careers and yet spend more quality, bonding time with their baby than most first-time parents can experience. Jess describes it as a best-case scenario. “We’ve had time to reconnect to each other, spend the most time we ever have at home, and take in every precious moment with our son.”
They’ve also been connecting with the Brambleton lifestyle, getting to know the dining and shopping options in the Town Center, the sweeping Loudoun County landscape, and budding friendships with neighbors.
Fun fact. When deciding about the move to Brambleton, the Singhs thought to spend their weekends in the Town Center. The vibe convinced them that our community is where they belonged, even with the vote of confidence by their dog and her love for Good Dog Rocky. “We cannot wait to see the movie theatre once the remodel is complete! Some days we will spend hours in the library, it’s such a cool space. We are also big fans of how close we live to Northern Virginia Orthodontics and Broadlands Family Practice.”
We think it’s safe to say the Singhs are finally home.
