Healthy For the Holidays Challenge is in Full Swing!

‘Tis the season to step it up, Brambleton! The MyBramHealth “Healthy for the Holidays” challenge kicked off last week but there’s still time to join in and help your team claim the $500 grand prize!  Join famed nutritionist and cookbook author, Frances Largeman-Roth for a Facebook LIVE event on Monday, December 5th at 1 PM on the Brambleton Community Association‘s Facebook page.  Tune in for health tips and the motivation you need to keep you on track this holiday season!

Lace Up for Learning 5k raises $12K for Local Schools

Thank you for coming out to raise money for your local schools. We had a perfect fall day for all the festivities. There were almost 800 participants for the 5k and 200 for the Kids’ Fun Run. The amount of registration proceeds benefiting our school is directly correlated to the level of participation. Lace Up for Learning event photos here.

Final School Results:
9th place:
Briar Woods High School with 2.4% of registrations
8th place:
Moorefield Station Elementary PTO with 4.1% of registrations
7th place:
Virginia Academy with 4.5% of registrations
6th place:
St Theresa School with 6.5% of registrations
5th place:
Stone Hill Middle School PTO with 7.9% of registrations
4th place:
Creighton’s Corner PTA with 11.7% of registrations
3rd place:
Madison’s Trust PTA with 13.6% of registrations
2nd place:
Legacy Elementary PTO with 23.4% of registrations
1st place:
Rock Ridge High School PTSO with 24.5% of registrations
(These percentages represent the portion of registration proceeds each school will receive).

The $500 Bonus and Spirit Award trophy went to our school with the highest number of participants (registrants and volunteers combined) as a percentage of the school’s 2016-2017 total enrollment. Legacy had 30% of their school’s enrollment participating and receives a $500 bonus and the trophy to keep until next year’s event! For more information, visit www.LaceUpforLearning.com.

  • Small Business Saturday – Support small, local businesses at the Brambleton Town Center on Saturday, November 26th.   • Suzanne Eaton Christmas Trees – Back in Brambleton for their 4th year, the Suzanne Eaton Christmas Tree lot will remain open daily in the Town Center through Christmas Eve, 10 am to 9 pm.  They offer fresh cut Fraser Firs from North Carolina ranging in size from six to twelve feet, as well as wreaths, garland and tree stands. They accept Master Card and Visa and offer FREE delivery to Brambleton residents! Proceeds from the tree stand goes to the Cherry Blossom Breast Cancer Foundation, a local non-profit which focuses on the detection, treatment, education and elimination of breast cancer.

Brambleton Kids Care Turkey Trail Trot & Food Drive – November 24th, 9:00 AM. Looking to burn some calories before feasting on turkey, potatoes, and pie?  Join Brambleton Kids Care for an informal Turkey Trail Trot through the community.  Meet at the Corner Clubhouse for the 2-ish mile walk/jog/run on the trails (feel free to do the loop twice for extra mileage).  There is no fee to participate; however, we ask that you bring canned donations to benefit Loudoun Hunger Relief.  To register and for more information, visit the Brambleton Kids Care web page.

Bonds Overwhelmingly Approved in Loudoun

Loudoun voters threw their support behind $344.69 million worth of general obligation bonds on the ballot Tuesday. That means the county will have financing to build three new schools, a regional park, road improvements and a new fire and rescue station, among other projects.

Just more than 56 percent voted in favor of borrowing just more than $76 million to build a recreation and community center in Ashburn and Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park in the Blue Ridge District.

Silver Line Metro to arrive in Loudoun in 2020
