Thank you to everyone who came out to the inaugural Brambleton Healthy Living Expo on Sunday, July 24th. Legacy Park was filled with nearly 300 attendees who came to learn the benefits of a healthy living lifestyle from over 40 vendors. Entertainment was provided by DJ Freedom Ortiz as well as dance performances by Bella Ballerina and Brittny Lynn country line dancers.
The Expo kicked off with Yoga in the Park alongside the Brambleton Farmers’ Market stands. Vendors set up obstacle courses, relay games and interactive displays to teach the benefits of exercise and fitness, healthy eating habits as well as physical and mental wellness. A special Les Mills BodyCombat “Fight for Fitness” class was held in Sport&Health Club and raised $150 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! Despite the near 100-degree weather, Brambleton’s first-ever Healthy Living Expo was a huge success. View photos from this year’s event and mark your calendars: we anticipate holding the Expo on May 7th next year to coincide with the grand opening of the Farmers’ Market season!

Great news! Loudoun County has been ranked #1 in investment in Virginia for the second year in a row by SmartAsset, a New York-based financial technology company.
“Being number one in new commercial investment is always an achievement. But being number one in back-to-back years is proof that Loudoun County has become a premier business location in the Commonwealth of Virginia,” says Buddy Rizer, Loudoun Economic Development’s executive director. Ashburn Patch Article – July 25th
Although it remains unclear when the first nature enthusiasts will be exploring Virginia’s newest state park in northwestern Loudoun, the county’s political and business leaders are already looking forward to the benefits the park will have beyond its own boundaries.
The 600 acres of parkland was transferred to the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation last month. The park plan, first laid out by Gov. Bob McDonnell in his final days in office, envisions an ultimate growth to 1,500 acres, including two Civil War battle sites along the Blue Ridge. The next step is for state park leaders to develop a master plan for the property, which will be the first state park to be developed in the county.
Local leaders see a lot of possibilities.
The county identified the road segment as an important east/west thoroughfare to help relieve traffic congestion along Waxpool Road. The project consists of 0.8 miles of a four-lane divided highway, a new bridge over Broad Run, intersection improvements at Loudoun County Parkway and Pacific Boulevard, trail and sidewalk improvements, and traffic signals at two intersections.
By 2021, Metrorail will have arrived in Loudoun, while the County is expected to add almost 50,000 residents, 25,000 jobs and 16,000 new households.
Will these changes bring new opportunities, or greater challenges to Loudoun?
To answer that question, the Loudoun Chamber has assembled our region’s top real estate and economic development experts for Loudoun 2021, a discussion on the future of the County’s economy and real estate market.
Following a keynote presentation by Anirban Basu of the Sage Policy Group, Loudoun 2021 will feature local real estate experts for a panel discussion focused on Loudoun’s major development corridors.
Speakers include:
Bill May, Miller & Smith/One Loudoun
Bob Buchanan, Buchanan Partners
Jim Policaro, Lerner Enterprises
At Loudoun 2021 you will gain an insider’s insight into the County’s commercial real estate market, plus the market intelligence and contacts you need remain a leader in this highly competitive market.
Construction of Phase 2 of the Silver Line has hit the 30 percent mark and design is virtually complete, according to information supplied by the Dulles Rail Project team to the Federal Transit Administration in midJuly. Work continues at station sites and at 10 of the wayside support facilities such as traction power substations and train control rooms as well as ongoing mass excavation at the Loudoun Gateway Station site. Dulles Metro Newsletter – July 2016
The county continues to prepare for the arrival of rail service and the opening of two Loudoun County Metro stations, Loudoun Gateway (formerly known as Route 606) and Ashburn (formerly known as Route 772). Service to the Loudoun Gateway and Ashburn Stations is expected to begin in 2020. Keep up to date on the project and learn more about the Silver Line.
