Nothing beats the combination of old and new, when the familiar and exciting come together to create a beautiful blend, a perfect pair. Maybe a pair as perfect as wine and cheese. But where would you find such a thing? Look no further than Ahso Cellars, a spinoff of the incredible restaurant that has made its home in the Brambleton Town Center. Chef Jason Maddens, the mastermind behind Ahso Restaurant, is at it again with his newest venture, also in the Brambleton Town Center. As a master sommelier with an impressive culinary background, Jason is taking the wine tasting experience to a whole new level.
Ahso Cellars is just next to its sister restaurant, the original Ahso, which started this chapter for Jason and his wife Tiffany in 2017. As a chef for almost 20 years, Jason has worked for some of the best chefs in the DC area, but his dream was always to come back to his hometown and open a restaurant there. Now he has not only that, but Ahso Cellars as well.
While technically Ahso Cellars opened last year, Jason is ready to take 2023 by storm. Not that he needs to worry about press, however, as the wine bar is already receiving rave reviews. One customer had this to say about her experience:
Sleek and trendy, this spot is your one-stop shop for those unique wines you can’t find in chain stores and delicious charcuterie to pair. Whether you want a glass, a flight or something to go, Ahso Cellars is expertly curated to invoke a sense of upscale tastes at an approachable price.
The same way Brambletonians know they can always head to Ahso for delicious food, cocktails and service with a smile, Ahso Cellars continues in that vein. Both staff and fellow patrons are happy to strike up a conversation with you if you choose to venture in for a glass of wine before another stop in the Brambleton Town Center. The atmosphere is designed classy enough for a girls’ night out, but casual enough that you can lean into your wine connoisseur ways no matter the actual level of skill.
The experience is made all the more welcoming by the wine display that features prominently. Each country whose wine they serve is listed with the wine on soaring racks to make it easier for patrons to learn about their drink. Both glasses and bottles are offered, as well as beer for those who don’t find themselves loving either Riesling or cabernet.
Catering from Ahso Restaurant ensures that any event you participate in there will be well provided for, too. This bonus is perfect for folks who are ready to book out the venue for a private event and want to make sure their guests aren’t drinking their dinner. Although, the selection at Ahso Cellars is so diverse we wouldn’t blame you.
To make the deal even sweeter than Moscato, Ahso Cellars also offers a membership program. The program can be bought on a month-by-month basis, or you can gift your budding sommelier a 6- or 12-month membership. Three levels are available, offering different discounts and even complimentary wine each month! This program touches on just about everything you can find at Ahso Cellars, so if you’re planning to spend some time there it is an incredible offer.
As always, it is a pleasure for the members of the Brambleton community to see a favorite flourish, and that is most certainly the case with the expansion of Ahso Cellars from Ahso Restaurant. Ahso Cellars is open Tuesday through Thursday, 12 to 9 PM, Saturdays 12 to 10 PM, and 12 to 8 PM on Sundays. There will even be a Far Niente Tasting night on February 23rd to let folks sample the goodness of Napa Valley Wine right here in NoVa with a delicious dinner to follow.
