Northern Virginia Orthodontics (NVO) first opened its doors in 2008, with an office in Brambleton Town Center that on Day One had only two team members. Fast forward to today, and Northern Virginia Orthodontics is one of the most sought-after child and adult orthodontic practices in the DC Metro area. Now, they are in four Northern Virginia locations, and have a welcoming, knowledgeable staff of more than 50.
“We saw just two patients that [first] day, and despite the economy crashing in 2008 and 2009, NVO continued to grow thanks to our dedication to treating patients like our own family, over-delivering on top-notch service, and changing lives both inside and outside our office,” says founder and owner Dr. Zach Casagrande.
Changing lives – inside and outside the office – is a core philosophy for Dr. Casagrande, his family and his staff. It’s also a central column of NVO’s corporate ethos. Dr. Casagrande’s practice puts smiles on faces in more ways than just through top-rated orthodontia. Northern Virginia Orthodontics considers giving back to the community a cornerstone of their business, and to date NVO has donated over $1.3 million to area schools, charity groups, and the fight against pediatric cancer. It’s fitting that such a community-engaged professional firm got its start in Brambleton, a community so equated with community involvement.
In 2018, Northern Virginia Orthodontics took their commitment to charities to the next level by launching The NVO Foundation, a 501(c) (3) organization formed to examine the greatest needs in a community and work to reduce or solve them. To start, the Foundation is focusing on two of their long-standing causes: local schools and pediatric cancer. In February of 2019, The NVO Foundation made its first official donation, with a contribution of $20,000 to the INOVA Schar Cancer Institute.
Doing good isn’t about the recognition, but if recognition comes along, one graciously accepts – and then gets back to the business of supporting the community. So it was for Dr. Zach Casagrande when he humbly accepted the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce’s 2019 Entrepreneur of the Year award at the Chamber’s annual Small Business Awards event this past November.
“Of all my accomplishments as an orthodontist, business owner and entrepreneur, I am most proud of the difference Northern Virginia Orthodontics has been able to make in this community,” Dr. Casagrande said upon accepting the honor.
We’re proud to call Northern Virginia Orthodontics – and all of the businesses in Brambleton Town Center – our friends, neighbors and community pillars.
