As the leaves change and the air crisps, many of us begin to consider how we will spend our time indoors when autumn departs and winter drives us out of the cold and into our homes. Many consider what they would like to do to spruce things up, and those who like to plan and prepare may even start some early gift-hunting before the holiday rush. Enter the Birchwood Bazaar and Craft Show, a new event full of the finest crafters selling their wares on Saturday, October 2nd.
The idea came to be during the pandemic. Said resident Robin Falsone:
“We are a neighborhood of retirees who were sequestered to our homes and I thought it would give our neighbors something to do instead of constantly watching the news and worrying. It worked. Residents started forming safe groups of friends and meeting together in their homes for craft nights. It gave us something to do and look forward to.”
From that moment on, every aspect of the Bazaar has been designed and executed by Birchwood residents. No detail has been left by the wayside. Weather will not be a deterrent for them, even though October can be both chilly and unpredictable. The bazaar will be held inside the Birchwood Clubhouse so there is no need to worry about rain dates or traveling far – both on the part of vendors and shoppers. However, it is important to note that the payment methods accepted by different participants may vary between cash, Venmo, checks, credit card, Square, and Paypal, so it may behoove customers to bring multiple options. Don’t worry about deciphering who accepts what, though; each vendor will have a sign giving the payment methods they can take.
With over 35 vendors selling everything from holiday apparel to dog goodies and even personalized gifts, there is surely something for anyone looking to support their neighbors, which is what Brambleton is all about. Running from 10 AM to 4 PM, the bazaar is the perfect addition to your Saturday, and perhaps even to some house hunting. Both Brambleton and Birchwood itself are currently touring models for condos, townhomes and single-family homes throughout each community. This one-two combo is a great way to get a feel for everything Brambleton is about while bolstering the community.
Birchwood is so excited to show off its talented residents, and it is sure that the rest of Brambleton (and beyond) can’t wait to support their neighbors. It is amazing how this group was able to take such a stressful time and turn it into an event that is exciting for vendors and patrons alike! Whether you are a Brambletonian or not, we hope to see you on Saturday, October 2nd (10 AM – 4 PM) at the first ever Birchwood Bazaar & Craft Show held in the Birchwood Clubhouse. Happy shopping!
