Brambleton Rocks

Posted August 23, 2019

Brambleton rocks in more ways than one. Meet one of our residents, Shannon Rood. She and her family purchased a new Van Metre home 7 years ago and fell for our tight-knit community rather immediately. Enjoying our tunnel systems, her teens have the freedom to roam and travel safely throughout Brambleton and in her own moments of roaming, Brambleton_Rocks was an idea Shannon had for the community when she was teaching art.

“Painting Rocks is very therapeutic and I noticed that in my studio with my students I thought it could be a way to bring together the age ranges we have in Brambleton, get people out on our path systems, beautify our community and brighten people’s day.”

And that she’s done! As you wander throughout Brambleton, don’t be surprised if you stumble upon a painted rock with a silly face, flowers or even a funny monster. Feel free to pick it up and take it with you. Consider leaving it in a new spot or taking it home. Then, get to work on your own few rocks to hide around the neighborhood. You’re sure to put a smile on someone’s face and that’s what Brambleton is all about!

When you find a rock or place a rock, share it on the community Brambleton_Rocks Facebook page. We can’t wait to see what pops up this fall!
