Brambleton Now: Things to Do in September

brambleton surrounding events in septemeberFall is coming! That means cooler days, pumpkin spice everything, changing leaves and the inevitable trek back to school. It also means an exciting roster of activity coming to Brambleton. We’ll tell you what to keep an eye out for this September.

 

September 10 — Brambleton Kids’ Triathlon

8 to 10 AM

kids triathlon brambletonThe Brambleton Community Association is throwing its 5th Annual Kids’ Triathlon, and children from ages 6 to 15 are all invited to swim, bike and run with their peers and friends! This event is a fun way to encourage a fit, healthy lifestyle in our community. Participants can also make a donation to a charitable youth organization of their choice. Get up and enjoy the outdoors with the rest of the Brambleton family!

This event is one of five races hosted in Brambleton annually and is part of the Race Brambleton series.  This year’s Kids’ Tri is presented by Little Smiles Dentistry.

 

Hangover Brunch:  Sundays at Lost Rhino Retreat

Recover from your weekend shenanigans with the Hangover Brunch at Lost Rhino Retreat every Sunday from 11:30 am – 2 pm.  We’ll be serving our brunch menu as well as our full menu, plus we’ll have Happy Hour drink specials and outdoor games and activities.  Play yard Yahtzee, Corn Hole, Giant Jenga and Giant Connect 4.  Come as you are – your Sunday best is NOT required!

 

September 11, 18 & 25 — Brambleton Farmers’ Market

9 Am to 1 PM

Brambletonian foodies unite! All through September and October, our weekly farmers’ market is an excellent way for residents to enjoy a Sunday morning and connect with the local community. With its array of incredible food options that include raw honey, artisan breads and fresh salsa, we’re getting hungry just thinking about it. See you there!

And while you’re at the market, make time for Yoga in the Park (Sundays through September 25th) or a Family Bike Ride sponsored by Bicycle Outfitters.  The bike rides will continue through October 2nd.

 

September 11 – Doggone Wild Pool Party (For Brambleton Residents Only)

Why should humans get to have all the poolside fun? For a few hours, we’re reserving the Brambleton Community Pool for a canine-centric party that helps our four-legged friends beat the heat. Humans, you’ll have to stay on the sidelines for this one, but the cute factor from watching these pups cool off is guaranteed to entertain!  $5 entrance fee per dog or bring a donation to the FOHA wish list.  And don’t forget:  register your dog before the event!

 

September 24 — Brambleton’s 15th Birthday Party: Cake Decorating Contest

2 to 3 PM
Brambleton Welcome Center

In honor of our 15th birthday, we’re holding a very special version of our popular cake decorating contest. It’s like the Great Brambleton Bake Off, but with cake design! Contestants will decorate a cake that represents a Brambletonian theme (which could feature our TV channel, our trails, our health and everything in between!)
