From brunch for mom to beer festivals, here are our picks for things to do in and around Ashburn in May:

1. Loudoun County’s Farmers’ Market Returns to Brambleton
We’re so happy to have the Farmers’ Market back for the season at Brambleton Town Center as of May 1. As a reminder, the Brambleton Farmers’ Market takes place from 9am-1pm every Sunday, May through October in Legacy Park. Come find everything for the week, from bread, salsa and produce to crepes, pizza and soap!

2. Staying Healthy in Ashburn – The Inaugural Healthy Living Expo!
On May 1, we’ll also be hosting the Inaugural Healthy Living Expo at Brambleton Town Center! With 45 vendors, exercise demos, freebies, a Zumbathon, obstacle course and more, there’s something for all walks (and runs, marathons or jogs) of life. Join us from 10am-2pm on Sunday, May 1 for the healthy living expo, which is FREE to attend!

3. Three Cheers for New Beers
From 4pm-10pm on May 4, Lost Rhino Retreat at Brambleton Town Center is releasing their new West Coast Style IPA, My Imaginary Girlfriend, to the masses. Come grab a taste of their new beer, score a new pint glass and enjoy some great food and company while your at it!

4. Virginia Gold Cup Races
An annual tradition, the Gold Cup Races on Saturday, May 7 in The Plains, Virginia, host a whole day of events revolving around the legendary steeplechasing classic. Enjoy a day of tailgating, hat contests, wagering and of course, steeplechase racing. For more details visit www.vagoldcup.com.

5. Mother’s Day Brunch
Mom’s Day is Sunday, May 8, and Brambleton Town Center has a number of restaurants that will treat mom to brunch. Enjoy some American fare and beer at Lost Rhino Retreat, yummy Greek food at Nick’s Taverna, a complete brunch menu at Blue Ridge Grill or some delicious homestyle Italian dishes at Papa Tony’s Trattoria. 6. 6th Annual Loudoun Lyme 1K/5K/10K RaceMay brings another great run for a great cause. This month’s fun run takes place on May 15 and benefits the National Capital Lyme and Tick-Borne Disease Association. You can participate by running, volunteering, or donating, so learn more at www.loudounlyme.org.

7. Lost Rhino Retreat’s Crawfish Boil
Lost Rhino Reatreat has hosted a ton of events in Brambleton in the past year that they’ve been open, but on May 15th, they’re adding a new event with their first annual crawfish boil. Join us for all you can eat crawfish, corn on the cob, sausage and potatoes just like in New Orleans.

 

8. Virginia is for Lovers LOVEworks Returns!
Feel the love in Brambleton as the LOVEworks installation returns on May 20 until May 31. The installation is a perfect representation of Virginia (it’s for lovers, after all) and serves as an awesome backdrop for selfies and photos. Come out and show your love in May! 9. Brambleton Brew Fest
Bram Brew Fest returns for a second year and just as many delicious, local beers. Twenty-five breweries within an hour’s drive of Brambleton will join us on May 21 along with food trucks, live music and other fun activities.
