Brambleton’s first annual Healthy Living Expo is taking place this weekend with a comprehensive schedule of events and activities for helping you live a healthier lifestyle. If you’re looking for things to do in Ashburn, VA this weekend, here are ten reasons to swing by the Expo on July 24 from 9am to 1pm for a day of healthy fun.
Kick off the first-ever Brambleton Healthy Living Expo with a community yoga class sponsored by Sport&Health. Led by Jerome, this 60-minute multi-level class will begin at 9 am in Legacy Park near Olympia Drive. All are invited to participate in this FREE event. Please bring your own mat, but we will have a few to share. For more information, contact Juli Presley at jpresley@sportandhealth.com.
Healthy living is for all ages, and so is our Expo! If they don’t want to learn about the benefits of eating their vegetables, kids can have fun playing games and running through obstacle courses conducted by FIR Boot Camp & Franus Fitness. Also, challenge your family to a game of cornhole at the Loudoun County Commuter Services booth or a soccer shootout with Brambleton Soccer.
The students at Bella Ballerina have been working on their “Walking on Sunshine” dance routine just for the Expo! Come out to watch their live performance at 11am and learn more about how Bella Ballerina helps kids and adults stay active through dance.
A gym. On a bus. Whaaat?? Our mind is blown over the concept of a full-sized school bus converted into a safe and fun gymnasium specifically designed for children ages 2 – 7. The bus will be parked along Olympia Drive during the Expo for your kids to play. Be sure to visit the Fit Fun Bus and see how their hands-on approach makes fitness fun and exciting for children.
Healthy eating is a big part of the equation for a healthy lifestyle. The Expo is happening alongside the Brambleton Farmers’ Market, where you can find fresh farm stands stocked with healthy food and produce. Treat yourself to breakfast, lunch or a snack with The Happy Crepe and Killer Tomato food trucks as you explore the Expo.
Join the Fight for Fitness in the streets of Brambleton Town Center. Les Mills® Body Combat is a fiercely energetic martial arts workout where you are totally unleashed and empowered. Karate, boxing, taekwondo and muay thai enthusiasts will especially enjoy this class. Suggested Donation of $10 will support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We will feature the NEWEST workout from BodyCombat! All are welcome to attend this outdoor class!
We’ll have a booth dedicated to all of our upcoming runs, walks and cycling tours so you can find the right fit for you, learn about the charities behind each and even register to participate or volunteer!
A safe household is a healthy household! The fire department will be on site for kids to live their dream of being a firefighter and to offer tips to kids and adults to keep a safe household. Be sure to check out their educational fire safety drills including Stop, Drop & Roll and a 9-1-1 Simulator.
If you can’t seem to find where your friend or family member walked off to, chances are they’re soaking up the relaxing free chair massages at the Massage Hope booth. While there, enter for a chance to win a one-hour massage to be redeemed at a later date.
In all, there will be over 40 vendor booths for you to learn more about healthy living. Vendors include restaurants, fitness and sports clubs, health and wellness practices, retailers and more, and lots of vendors will be hosting giveaways and free swag, so come by and learn about all the options for healthy living in Ashburn and Brambleton!
